How long does it take for a woman to have a baby? At what age is fertility at its peak? Answers in video of Anne de Kervasdoué, gynecologist.
- The maximum fertility is 25 years old. Then, it decreases very slowly and from 35 years, it decreases very very quickly.
- On average, between 20 and 25 years, it takes three months to have a baby. After 35 years, it is one year, on average: that means that a woman can be very pregnant after one month but the other will be two years old. So it's an average. And after 40 years, chances are considerably diminished.
- So you have to make your babies young and it does not go in the direction of the current era where women prefer to work, they have studied, often very long, they want to work, they want to prove to their employers that they are Serious, they will not make a baby right away and leave. So they have a sense of responsibility and suddenly they wait a very long time and on average, it is 30 years old now the age of the first pregnancy. And in Paris, it's more like 32 or 33 years, the age of the first pregnancy, which is late when you want to make a family, because 33 years, your chances of fertility have already decreased, you can try one year two years, you are 35 years old. In general, you are tired after your first pregnancy, you wait at least two or three years and you are 38 years old for the second baby.
- I can only give this advice to women: it is not to wait to make babies. And my advice is to make the first child before 30 years old. The second is less important because there is already one.
